Our Medical Director is Dr. McSwain. He has been providing primary care in the Auburn area for twelve years. He grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina. He completed his undergraduate degree at Virginia Military Institute, graduating first in his class. Dr.McSwain attended medical school at Duke University. He then completed his combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency program at the University of Rochester. Dr. McSwain is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American College of Physicians. Dr. McSwain lives with his wife, Teresa, and his four daughters, Georgia, Ellie, Caroline and Tara.
The newest addition to our Medical Provider staff is Laura Osika-Michales. She is a graduate of Crouse School of Nursing and received her BSN and Master’s degree in Nursing from SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse. She is nationally certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She holds memberships with the American Nurses Association, The Nurse Practitioner Association, and Sigma Theta Tau (the National Honor Society of Nursing). Laura practiced as an RN for three years at the VA Medical and Crouse Hospital in Syracuse before joining the Internal Medicine Associates of Auburn as a Nurse Practitioner, and eventually coming on as our newest Medical Provider. She enjoys spending time with her two dogs; Snickers and Hershey, and three Guinea Pigs. She also enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors.
Michelle Fassinger – RPA-C
Michelle is one of our dedicated and energetic Registered Physician Assistants. She has over 16 years of experience in a variety of clinical settings. These include: Clinical Orthopedics, Gastroenterology, Emergency Medicine, and Urgent Care Medicine. Michelle completed her Bachelor of Science as a Physician Assistant at Gannon University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Michelle is “..comfortable in the office and the operating room. I always know that the more time I spend in either place, the more people I have the opportunity to help… and the more I can add to my skills and to my ability to make a difference in their lives.” When not working, Michelle is busy with her husband and four children.
Rob Fuller – RPA-C
Rob, a Syracuse native, has been providing healthcare in different specialties in the Northeast US and Central New York areas for most of his adult life. Rob is an undergraduate alumnus from LeMoyne College. He graduated from Drexel (Hahnemann) University in Philadelphia with his Physician Assistant degree. Rob furthered his education by completing a Surgical Residency program in Baltimore, Md. Since then, Rob has practiced in a variety of areas. These include: General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care Medicine, Pain Management, Cardiology, and Occupational Medicine. In his free time, Rob enjoys his time playing volleyball year round, worship leading, and spending time with family and friends.
